In my Gargoyle i used texture around the inside of the mouth by making it rough to give one the sense of teeth when there really isn't. I put emphasis more on the side with the mouth completely open to draw the viewers attention to the tiny creature sitting on the tongue. Then i used color to show more clearly the inside where the creature is being sucked into.
Lines were used on both sides of the Gargoyle to pull the piece together. I formed one of the faces to emphasis its bone structure. I used light strokes and heavy strokes when applying the green acrylic paint to give the faces a sense of real skin with different shades.
The purpose of this piece was to show how one thing or person may appear one way but actually be different in who they are, what they think, or what they do. I think it was kind of effective but could of been done better with some more time and effort. It does get the message across seeing as one side seems blank and the other side seems like its about to devour a creature.
